The skein on the left is from a pretty Jacob ewe named Valentine. I bought the fleece a while back and just now started washing it in small batches. I used mostly black in this one with just a bit of white to make it heathery.
The center skein is gorgeous brown wool from an Alpaca named Belle. I swear, this stuff spun its self!
The skein on the right is Colonial wool in Mahogany. I had to do alot of predrafting, but it came out nice and thin. I cant wait to ply it tiwh somehting sparkly!
Gads! I am envious!
Your yarn work is awesome. I did some weaving a while ago, and hand dyed work is always so gorgeous, and you make such beautiful things! keep it up. btw do you knit or crochet? ^_^
thank you! i knit and crochet, though I like knitting more. crocheting is awesome, but it makes my hands ache. i would love to see your weavings! are they posted? i dont remember seeing anything like that in your gallery...

I did some crochet, but nothing really more complex than a very long square blanket! lol. Weaving... well I finally got a small heedle loom intended to weave a scarf on, but it's been difficult to learn. I need more practice. My hands get achy too with crochet! I believe it was you who was also doing some serious wool spinnng too. Your stuff is awesome. There's something so wonderful and sort of soothing feeling about good yarn.
^_^
my hands ache when I crochet. but theyve been iomproving so i can go for longer periods now. yay! i hope you stick with the weaving!!! i was thinking about getting one of those looms. id like to weave straps for fun costume stuff for my horse to wear. and maybe my sheep too. you better post what you make!

I know what you mean by achy hands. It may be a while, but you bet I'll post something if I get to weaving again.
Looms can be hard to work with... er figure out the mechanics of! I've been wanting to get involved with the weavers guild of MN here for some classes/rental info (some of the more functional looms are expensive and to have the chance to rent would be awesome!). If you get a chance, you might want to look around for some fiber arts groups in your area, you're way talented enough as a fiber artist! ^_^
Ive bene trying to get upt he nerve to meet the fiber folks around here. There seems to be quite a few. But im awfully shy sometimes. Well, the getting in touch part Im shy about. If you tossed me in with them Id be fine. But I hate first meetings!!
