This is an aerial shot of our home back in the 1950's. It hasnt changed a whole lot since then. Very tree you see here, though, is gone. They were all elms and died from that horrid Dutch Elm Disease. We now have alot of maples (a few types), pines, sumacs, and new lilacs and other things. We dont own the cow barns acros the road (they were sold a few years ago). Just the house on the right side is ours. The large white barn behind our house is nearly fallen down. The greened out barn near it isnt there at all, but in its place we now have a small horse barn. We only have 2 1/2 acres now. There used to be hundreds that went with the house. :/
Almost all that land and barns and everything is owned by a wealthy gay writer and her partner. Theyre lovely, quiet neighbors. We all like them very much! Though I still wish I owned the land... its worth so much now! Supposedly they paid over a million for it all! /faints
Anyway, this is a scan that I took of the old beat up photo (which was horribly colored green for some reason) that I scanned in four parts. Can you tell? I may go over the whole thing and try to recolor it myself sometime. But its so huge! the original scan is GIANT!
It looks so beautiful! What a shame that the land was sold off like that. That is such a bummer! I home you can buy someof it back someday. That would be so cool!!
