I got my first needle felting kit a few weeks ago but didnt do anything with it untill a few days ago. As soon as I started, I know I was in love! This little fellow took me 5-6 hours over 2 days. And boy, my arm was sore for a while! All that needling! I bought the kit from a great store on ebay - [link] - They also sell 1oz bits of wool in alot of colors, so I'll definately be making more toys!! Though devart need a better place to put thingslike this....

This little fellow is named Tuker. His body, limbs, eyes, and all other markings are made from wool. He is jointed with waxed thread.

Doesnt he look like a purple Tigger?

That is ridiculously cute. How is it, exactly, that you went about making him?

Well, its called needle felting. You take wool roving (thats wool before you spin it in to yarn. Looks like a big cotton ball) and take thin strips of it and roll it in to what ever shape your after (a ball for the head or a tube for the arms and legs, etc) and then use these special needles to poke at the wool. The needles have little barbs on them and they mat the wool together making a solid peice of felt. THe more you poke at it the firmer it gets. You can also poke more in areas you want to indent, say for an eye socket or a wrinkle. You can also graft peices on to add things like ears or hairt. Its SO much fun! I bought my kit from here - [link] Theyre great and the kit has the best, full color instructions Ive found. You should try it! I've ordered more wool in a bunch of colors. I cant wait to make more! My cousin wants me to make a lion, I hope I can do it!
