The Day

I took this photo on the day Yowlie died. It might seem morbid to some that I took photos of my horse after he died. But it was something I felt a need to do at the time. It helped me deal with feelings that are overwhelming, and is still helping. I dont ever want to forget this day. He was my son, though he was not in human form, he was in my heart. I feel a need now to share this particular photo. It has alot of emotion in it, which is why I chose this catagory. Loki is standing in her stall eating hay. She would take a bite, hurry to the corner of the building and stare at Yowlie. She was devistated by his death. I feel this photo shows how bleak the world is on the outside, where he lays. It shows how warm home is where Loki is eating. And just how shocking life and death can be. Remember to love and cherish those you have while you still have them there to hold. And after they go, dont ever forget how much you love them. And know that they are there with you still, like my Yowlie.
